What will you expect to see when an African who only speaks his home language attempting to communicate with a Chinese who only speaks Mandarin?

“Africans and Chinese have a common language. The African will first point to an item of sale and use gestures and basic English, French and Chinese phrases to ask for the price: “Maa fren, dis one there, haau mach“? “Mon freeee, ceci la combine?”; “Pangnyaau, duoshou qian?” The Chinese seller will punch some figures into a calculator and show the African. He would most of the time instantly shake his head in disagreement – Africans hardly pay the first price in an African market situation back home in Africa – and punch in his own suggested price. To which the Chinese would react: “bu dui”, or “dui, hao de”, if she agrees.

Nigerian Pidgin is an English-based pidgin spoken as a lingua franca across Nigeria.
According to Ihemere, Nigerian Pidgin is the native language of approximately 3-5 million people and is a second language for at least another 75 million. Variations of Pidgin are spoken across West Africa, in countries such as Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon. Although Nigerian Pidgin English has no official language status, it is an interesting language that worths public’s attention.
