Dr. Bodomo
As mentioned, we carried out in-depth interviews with 5 African migrant interviewees. Questions regarding their use of language in different settings, mother tongue, daily experiences which relates to their language ability and language use were asked. We would like to look into their language presences as a HK African, how would they unpack their original identity and reshape their new identity as a Hong Kong citizen, as well as their views towards HK.
Other than that, we also interviewed Professor Bodomo (Head of African Studies in the University of Hong Kong) who is familiar with the African community in China and Hong Kong. His viewpoint on the African community gave us very good insights towards this group of minority in Hong Kong.
